For all you kids out there: Neil Young is a "US singer and songwriter". It's true! I read it in the article.

The funny thing is that a paragraph later they say he's Canadian.

The spider was discovered in Alabama! Too perfect!

"There are rather strict rules about how you name new species," Mr Bond said. "As long as these rules are followed you can give a new species just about any name you please."

Yeah, the rules are so strict, you can do just about anything you want.

I bet he didn't even name it using cladistics. Damn pheneticists, ruining our monophyletic clades.

"In Birmingham they support the pheneticist..."

chorus: "Boo. Boo. Boo."

"...we all did what we could do.
Now monophyletic clades do not bother me,
Does your conscience bother you?"

Willi Hennig would be so proud!

"Now Dürrhennersdorf has got Willi Hennig
He's been known to develop a phylogenetic systematic or two.
Lord his clades get me off so much
He picks me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how 'bout you?"

I'm shocked. I would have expected this from Ozzie Ozborne.

Really? I didn't even know Ozzie Ozborne had an LJ account, let alone that he'd be posting about Neil Young-named spiders.

Learn something new every day. Wow.

snort:LOL

fine fine fine. my bad. :P

I'm surprised you didn't have anything to say about my maligning arachnids by implying an association with ozzie. But then, you may like ozzie better than neil. Or are convinced spiders deserve what they get. With which, if it were bats, I would totally agree.

apropos of nothing, I suspect you aspire to have hair like ozzie's rather than neil's (and really, don't we all?).

My hair aspirations are rather meager. Expectations: DELIVERED.
